The Inaugural Global Diagnostics Charity Ball
On the evening of Saturday 7th June, over 200 guests attended Global’s inaugural Summer Charity Ball, held on the front lawn of the stunning Colney Hall Estate at Norwich. A great time was had by all in wonderful company, with dancing ‘til the early hours to the amazing band ‘Agent Orange’!
The Ball had an Eastern theme, with many of the guests attired accordingly - the girls looking beautiful in saris and "hint of the east" accessories, with the boys looking very fetching in their turbans and fez’s!
Grand and silent auctions, together with an instant raffle raised over £6,000.00 for Action Arthritis. The charity, founded in 1990 by the late Hugh Phillips, and Keith Tucker, aims to promote all aspects of musculoskeletal disease to improve the well being of patients. It funds a variety of schemes including, research projects, educational programmes, travelling fellowships, the purchase of equipment for research and support staff for research. Monies raised on the night will now be well-spent on funding current and new research projects.
The success of the night was undoubtedly due to the tremendous support of countless individuals who kindly donated their time and effort. Though too many to mention individually, Global would like to single out just a few for their outstanding contribution: special thanks to Sammy Mann, Rita Chotai, James Frost and to Toshiba Medical, Agfa and Xograph for their sponsorship.
Final and biggest thanks go to James and Sharon Boddy for allowing us to share with them their beautiful home for this magical evening.
