Nike Sports Medicine Road show at The Global Clinic, Norwich
Over the past months, the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine (ACPSM), in collaboration with Nike, have organised a running seminar “road show” at various venues around the country, with the aim of attracting physios, osteopaths, sports physicians and other related medical professionals to learn about Nike’s latest research relating to shoe wear and running and the recognition and prevention of running injuries.
The Nike road show came to The Global Clinic, Norwich on Friday 16th January and proved a great success with 52 people in attendance in the Clinic's brand new Seminar Suite.
Following a welcome by Elaine Bailey, Business Development Manager, Global UK, Chris Boynes ACPSM, Director of Physioactive Sports and Spinal Practice began the presentations with “Running injuries and their recognition and treatment” , followed by Chloe Shattock Nike UK , presenting “Nike Running: Innovations in footwear for injury prevention and rehabilitation”. The final speaker, Amanda Lau, Podiatrist, provided an overview of the various Nike running projects and initiatives over the last 5 years. The evening was deemed a great success with an exchange of valuable information and discussions ranging from types of shoes, the latest research from Nike with injury prevention, and other areas of running interests.
“Feedback has been excellent and people found it interesting and stimulating and enjoyed the evening. There where very constructive comments made which we appreciated and no doubt will lead to improving and adding to the road shows we plan to run again in the future” – Chris Boynes ACPSM
The next ACPSM / NIKE Road show is heading to Loughborough and then over to Northern Ireland. Please contact Chris Boynes chris@physioactive.com for the future dates and venues.
