DXA is a simple, quick and non-invasive scan and the most accurate method for diagnosing osteoporosis. It is also commonly used to assess an individual's risk for developing fractures.
The DXA scanner can also a produce a Bodyscan DXA report which gives meaningful data on the amount and distribution of fat and lean mass in your body. Used by sports persons or as part of a prescribed weight loss programme, an initial DEXA scan provides an accurate picture of body composition, enabling you or your coach/physician to design a fitness and macronutrient regime based on increasing muscle, decreasing fat or both. Subsequent scans provide trend data - an accurate measure of progress to confirm and validate your training programme.
We can organise a scan for you as long as your Doctor thinks it's necessary. Please ask your doctor for a referral letter before booking your scan. Unfortunately we cannot process your booking request without a referral from your doctor.
